Akuapem Poloo will be punished - Mampong Akwapim chief

The Apesemakahene of Mampong Akwapim, Nana Yirenkyi I has said he will make sure actress Rosemond Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo, faces punishment for her controversial photo in which she posed nude with her son by her.

Nana Yirenkyi I, who was upset over Akuapem Poloo's stunt lambasted her and said she will be summoned before the chiefs in the area.

“We are meeting this Friday and I will personally make sure Akuapem Poloo is punished for her action. I will report her to all the five divisional chiefs and later to the New Okuapehene to deal with her.

"First of all, Akuapem Poloo is not a native of this land. She just came to live here so we will not allow her to drag our name into the mud. We don’t need her here because she is a disgrace to the people of Akwapim,” he told Graphic Showbiz on Wednesday, July 1.

According to Nana Yirenkyi I, no sane mother will go naked in front of her son and put it on social media.

“Some time ago she did a similar thing and she was spoken to extensively and she apologised but it looks like she has no shame and it is about time she put a stop to this nonsense,” he said.

Akuapem Poloo posted the nude picture of herself holding her son's hands on Tuesday, June 30, as she celebrated his seventh birthday.

The social media celebrity has been roundly condemned for her action even though she tried to justify it and there have been reports that she has been invited by the Criminal Investigations Department over it. She has since pulled the picture down and apologised.

Nana Yirenkyi I said the people of Akwapim just got a new Omanhene in the person of Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III and they will not allow disgraceful acts like that by Akuapem Poloo.
