Another rivalry at ‘ tiGo Ghana Meets Naija’

Previous tiGo Ghana Meets Naija concerts have been a friendly contest between the Ghanaian and Nigerian artistes to decide which of the two groups will emerge victorious on the night.

And this year is not going to be any different with the ‘friendly rivalry’ heightened more than ever. Representing Ghana this year are three of the biggest names on the music scene currently- Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and Shatta Wale.

All three artistes are past winners of the Artiste of the Year awards at the Ghana Music Awards and have promised to deliver what they refer to as “one of the biggest performances of their careers.”

They will face stiff competition from the Mavins Crew, dubbed the 7-man army. The group consists of Don Jazzy, Reekado Banks, Dr SID, Korede Bello, Di'Ja, D' Prince and Tiwa Savage.

In the past, the show has seen thrilling performances by artistes such as Brymo, Sarkodie, Tiwa Savage, Castro, Wizkid, Davido, D’banj, 4×4, Shatta Wale, R2bees, and M.I .

Besides the friendly rivalry between the artistes from the two countries,  the event is also a platform to promote musical collaborations between the artistes.

At last year’s edition, Davido and Shatta Wale performed live for the first time ever, their hit single, Whine Ya Waist and patrons will be expecting to see a similar performance at this year’s concert.

In its fifth year and under the theme, “Unleashing Unlimited Music”, this year’s event is expected to give music fans an experience to truly relish, come Saturday, May 23.
