As the only Ghanaian artiste to enter the Boomplay Golden Club and also earn a BET nomination, he definitely struck the iron while it was hot and swiftly ramped up the pace in his current trend to release his new single Soja, which swiftly became a global anthem peaking at number one on the Apple Music Top 100 Ghana Chart and at number 14 on the Apple Music Top 100 Nigeria Charts just a few days after its release.
Undoubtedly, this year has been a good year for the 2022 UK Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year who has gotten the world’s attention with his music. This achievement obviously comes with hard work and the pressure to always deliver is high.
In an exclusive interview with Graphic Showbiz shortly after his debut album, Villain I Never Was, launched last month at Echo House, Adjiringanor, the Black Sherif said he was always learning and challenging himself to always do better. And that has been a great contributor to his rising fame.
“Getting to where I am is hard work and consistency. I am always learning from great musicians to add to my knowledge. The only way I can improve on what I do is to challenge myself and break my own record.
“Whenever I release a song, I should be able to come out with another which is crazier. It is the only way to measure myself to see how I am doing”, the young man from Konongo Zongo added.
