Dark Suburb unfazed by occult tag
Alternative rock band, Dark Suburb, has disclosed that they are not bothered by comments from some sections of the public and religious persons that their type of music and outfits is occultic.

In an interview with Showbiz, they said these types of comments have not had a negative effect on their brand and added that even if they were to be an occult, they would have no reason to keep it secret.
“No, these comments have not affected us because even if we were to be members of an occult group, we would not be ashamed of this since this would have been by choice,” they said.
Last year, Dark Suburb came under criticism when the founder of House of God International Ministry and President of World Wide Council of Prophetic Alliance, Prophet Daniel Asamoah-Larbi said the cover story of the group, their costume, ideology and their stage act invoke demons and also emphasised on the fact that skeletal materials are demonic.
Dark Suburb acknowledged that their style of music, costumes and performances was unique and this could account for the reason some members of the public still found it hard to make sense of what the group was actually about.
They, however, asserted that their music has a global outlook and appeal which meant that their fan base was not limited only to Ghana or Africa for that matter.
“We think there is a market for every style of music and our market size is the globe. We have our faithful following and this is evident by the fans we have whenever we are on tour,” they said.
Dark Suburb told Showbiz that they are currently in the studio recording new music which would be on their latest album.

“We took a short break from the public eye because we have been in the studio recording. Our kind of music requires attention to a lot of details, especially in the area of song writing, production among others. It’s a time consuming process and pretty expensive too,” they said.
The alternative rock band emerged the winner of the Unsung Artiste of the Year category at the 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Some of their hit songs include E Go Be, I Dey Feel You Die, Mama ft Wiyaala, Hustle among others.
Dark Suburb revealed they would kick off their world tour, starting with Africa after the launch of their album.
