Fancy Gadam given a rousing and heroic welcome to Tamale after VGMA win

Fast rising Tamale-based artiste, Ahmed Mujahid Bello popularly as Fancy Gadam who set a new record at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) was given a rousing and heroic welcome by the chiefs and people of Tamale on Monday.

Fancy Gadam who grabbed two awards at the 2018 VGMA, Hip-life Song of the Year Award and the Most Popular Song of the Year Award was ushered into Tamale from the Airport amidst heavy vehicular traffic with motorists blowing their horns.

The "Total Cheat" hit maker presented the awards to the chiefs of Tamale for their blessings and also to show appreciation of their unflinching support.

Fancy Gadam who has been described by his funs and some entertainment pundits as the "pride of Northern Ghana” later in the day posted on his social media handles acknowledging the massive love and support the chiefs and his fans showed him by voting massively for him to win the two awards.

"Tamale Gukpenaa and Tamale Dakpema! Two great Kings in our kingdom told me they personally voted for us to win!” he posted.

The talented musician who is known for pulling massive crowd at concerts rose to stardom after he won the 2017 VGMA New Artiste of the year award.

He demonstrated his consistent performance in the Music Industry this year by grabbing the Hip-life Song of the year and the most popular song of the year awards at the 2018 VGMA.

However, the Most Popular Song of the Year Award has been greeted with several controversies as Patapaa, the "One Corner" hitmaker has criticized organizers of VGMA and accused them of allegedly taking bribe from Fancy Gadam and denying him (Patapaa) the award despite the popularity of his "one corner" song.

The situation generated a hot debate as to who deserved the award among music lovers in the country, with the "Total Cheat" hit maker coming out to strongly defend the award on several media platforms.
