I BAD hits Accra screens Oct 31

Accra is about to go bad—in the best way possible as it plays host to Naija-Ghana film collaboration, I BAD.

Yes, I BAD is rolling out the red carpet at Silverbird Cinemas, Accra Mall, on Thursday, October 31, 2025, and the buzz is nothing short of electric.

Produced by Ghana-based Nigerian filmmaker Destiny Austine Omon in partnership with Akogun Multimedia, I BAD has been a hot topic in film circles since its early working title, Badagry, sparked chatter. Now, with a new name, it is ready to dazzle.

Directed by Davison Izegaegbe (DGN Nollywood), I BAD brings together an impressive blend of acting talent from both sides of the Gulf of Guinea.

The cast includes celebrated Nigerian stars Alex Usifo, Sam (Abacha), Yemi Blaq, and Jude Orhoha, alongside Ghanaian-Nollywood actress Nana Yaa Agyare and Nigeria-based Ghanaian actor Eric Afrifa.

And the story? Producer Omon tells Graphic Showbiz it’s more than glitz; it’s a story that bridges two cultures through relatable themes.

“I BAD explores the struggles and triumphs of ordinary people while celebrating the shared identity between Nigeria and Ghana. It’s a story of unity, resilience, and rediscovery,” he said.

Shot primarily in Ososo, a town in Nigeria’s Edo State, with additional scenes captured in Accra and Lagos, the film promises stunning visuals and authentic African storytelling.

Even local royalty is sold. The Olososo of Ososo hailed the project for throwing the spotlight on his community, describing it as one that “portrays the town in a powerful and positive light.”

The film has already made waves with a private screening at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub in Benin City, attended by chiefs, government officials, and top industry players.

The Accra premiere features a red carpet event at 5:00 p.m., followed by screenings at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Celebrities, filmmakers, and fans will gather for what’s being hailed as one of the year’s biggest Ghana-Nigeria film moments.
