Laughter filled night at OB Amponsah’s "Greetings from Abroad" comedy show

The Bukom Arena in Accra was abuzz with laughter and entertainment on Saturday, December 20, as comedian OB Amponsah took center stage in his "Greetings from Abroad" comedy show.

Organised by Africa Arts Network, the event brought together a host of talented comedians, musicians, and celebrities, including actress Nana Ama Mcbrown and Nat Abbey, also known as Idikoko.

With his impeccable skills as compere on the night, Lekzy Decomic set the right tone with his introduction and command on stage.

One of the standout performers was Togolese comedian, Alpheenomenal, who regaled the audience with jokes about his experiences, including driving five hours for a five-minute performance and dating a white girl for a visa. His hilarious antics had the crowd in stitches.

Canadian comedian Fbson also left the audience in laughter, praising Ghana's Jollof rice as the best, attributing its excellence to Ghanaian women's cooking skills. He even joked that the quality of Jollof rice helped Ghana qualify for the World Cup!

Other notable performances came from KwekyForty, who encouraged men to be courageous when dating plus-size people, and Parrot Mouth, a Ghanaian-based Nigerian comedian, who joked about Nigerians being prone to kidnapping.

However, the biggest discovery of the night was Liberty Ghanaians Smiles, whose comedy acts on funeral hype, testing microphones by various tribes, and more, earned him a standing ovation.

The headline artist, OB Amponsah, also delivered some side-splitting jokes, including one about the SDA church, comparing the differences between the American church and Kwadaso SDA in Ghana.

He also poked fun at Ghanaian Christians' obsession with prayers during cold phases in the US and emphasized the importance of treating people with disabilities well.

The event was expertly hosted by Lekzy Decomic, who kept the audience engaged throughout the night. Other performers included NY Melody, Kwame Obed Putoo, Ramzy Ray, Ataamle, Khemikal, and MC Okokobioko, who joked about Gen Zs and their expensive lifestyle.

Overall, "Greetings from Abroad" was a night to remember, with laughter, entertainment, and unforgettable performances.

The night didn't kick off as promptly as expected, falling victim to the all-too-familiar Ghanaian phenomenon of delayed starts.

Despite the late start, the production quality shone through, and the beaming faces of the audience afterwards said it all – they'd had a blast.
