Mikki makes Friday nights exciting with After Hours

Friday nights on TV3 have become more exciting ever since the bubbly Mikki Osei-Berko started hosting the late night entertainment show, After Hours.

The show, which airs at exactly 9pm, sees Mikki hosting two to three guests as well as discussing various trending issues, mainly politics.

Mikki is not a new face on the radio and TV scene but this is his first time doing something like this and from all indications, he is acing it with his trademark humour and willingness to push the limit.

Showbiz caught up with him on Friday and he threw more light on the show.

“After Hours is a late night entertainment show with a satiric slant to entertain our viewers on Friday nights and excite them like never before,” he said.

“It is not a new concept but we have made it more local and we deal with local issues. It is an opportunity for us to get our own and I believe the Mikki Osei-Berko factor makes it different. I do not only present but I am part of the production,” he added.

After Hours, which aired its 21st episode last Friday has seen many guests passing through including Ministers of State, members of Parliament, musicians, actors etc .

“It is a news presentation so any issue-oriented personality can be my guest, I am looking forward to having President Akufo-Addo and former President John Mahama on the show but I will love to kick-off with their wives,” Mikki said.

Recounting some of the moments he has enjoyed on the show so far, Mikki mentioned the episode where he interviewed songstress, Stephanie Benson.

“That episode really cracked people up because it was a bit controversial and a lot of people talked about it. Some of the things Stephanie talked about were really controversial and guess what? we ended up doing the One Corner dance on the show so you can imagine.”

The future looks really bright for After Hours and Mikki couldn’t help but be hopeful.

“ We can only pray to God to expand our territory in terms of viewership, we want to build the show with our viewers and that is why we have the Vox-Pop segment. We really appreciate recommendations of viewers of the show, once we do it together, the sky is the limit,” he finally said.

After Hours is an AE Media production in collaboration with TV3.
