MTN Ashantifest 2026 concert thrills Kumasi with top performances

Music lovers in Kumasi were treated to an electrifying night of performances as the MTN Ashantifest musical concert delivered a vibrant showcase of talent at the Jubilee Park over the weekend.

The event, held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, drew large crowds from across the Ashanti Region, with patrons dancing into the early hours of Sunday in what many described as one of the festival’s most energetic editions.

A line-up of popular artistes, including Ypee, O'Kenneth, Oseikrom Sikani and DopeNation, thrilled the audience with back-to-back performances that kept the crowd on its feet throughout the night.

The concert opened with performances from emerging acts, setting the tone for the evening before Ypee took centre stage with a string of crowd favourites, including Akohwie, Ewuraba, Sika Asem, Kumerica, Adwin Bone and Chinghilingi, which drew loud cheers from fans.

O’Kenneth, known for his role in the Kumasi-based Asakaa movement, also delivered a standout performance. He had the crowd singing along to tracks such as Akata Krachi, Bad Energy, Home Broke and the widely celebrated Balenciaga, sparking a frenzy among fans who called for an encore as he exited the stage.

The concert also featured a lively dance display by Afronita, whose performance with her dance group drew strong applause and added variety to the night’s entertainment.

Oseikrom Sikani followed with a high-energy set, performing a selection of his popular collaborations with artistes such as Black Sherif, Kelvyn Boy, Joey B and Kweku Flick, further sustaining the momentum of the event.

The climax of the night came with the performance by DopeNation, whose appearance triggered heightened excitement among patrons. At the peak of their set, some enthusiastic fans attempted to mount the stage, underscoring the group’s popularity.

With hit songs such as Steeze and Composure, Zormizor and Kakalika, the duo kept the crowd dancing until the early hours, bringing the concert to a memorable close.

The MTN Ashantifest musical concert once again highlighted Kumasi’s vibrant entertainment scene, leaving patrons satisfied and reinforcing the festival’s reputation as a major cultural and musical event in Ghana.
