Okyeame Kwame meets former US Vice President Al Gore at a Climate programme

Award winning Ghanaian musician and Climate Clock Ambassador, Okyeame Kwame, has met the former US vice president Al Gore in Accra during the 54th Climate Reality Leadership Training recently.

The session which was led by Al Gore was one of the largest gatherings of scientists, experts and youth across the African continent providing overview of the latest climate science, existing policies, solutions and opportunities for advocates to make a difference.

In a tweet, Okyeame Kwame expressed his excitement about meeting the former Vice President and his commitments to climate change advocacy.

Since 2015, Okyeame Kwame has been at the forefront of Climate change advocacy when he was signed the ambassador for Redd Plus Campaign which was organised by the Forestry Commission of Ghana.

In 2018, he was also appointed ambassador for the Dedicated Grant Mechanism (DGM) with was a World Bank programme spearheaded by Solidaridad and has since been leading campaigns on climate change.

And in July this year, the onetime VGMA Artiste of the year, successfully organised the ‘Climate champion’s walk” to demand requisite policies from the Parliament of Ghana to protect the environment.

Dr Emmanuel Marfo, Chairman for Parliamentary Caucus on Climate Change applauded renowned Ghanaian rapper, Okyeame Kwame for leading advocacy on climate change in the country.
