Okyeame Kwame returns for encore

Following the impressive success of the second edition of the Versatile Show less than a month ago, Okyeame Kwame has decided to give the public an encore by staging another performance this Christmas season.

The show, which is in collaboration with the National Theatre is scheduled to come off on Sunday, December 21.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, the Rap Dacta said he was persuaded to bring back the show as a result of the positive reaction he had from the audience and some notable personalities who came to witness the last edition.

“A lot of people from Kwesi Pratt to some Ministers of State who came to witness the last show have managed to convince me to stage the show again. They feel that a single showing of such a wonderful performance is a great disservice to people out there who might not have had the chance to watch it.”

Okyeame Kwame said that from next year, the show would not only be staged in Accra but across the country as well, starting with Kumasi.

Okyeame Kwame assured the audience who would be at the National Theatre of a tighter and a much improved performance compared to the previous edition.

Last month, the singer-rapper-songwriter and his team that included a cast of about 70, put up a heart-warming show bursting with varied talent that compellingly dealt with the issue of begging in our public and private lives.

In a performance titled The Beggars, which was the follow-up to the earlier one called White Wedding, the production effectively merged music, drama, dance, poetry and comedy to tell a serious moral tale.
