Musician, Shegee Styla seems not to be ‘joking’ at all this year. After releasing a single, Let’s Go, a few months ago, the former member of the defunct girl group, Triple M, is out with another single titled Baawasa  which means not joking in Hausa.

The song released last week is produced by Dorsty Beatz. According to Shegee Styla, real name, Mildred Mark Hansen, Baawasa, a fusion of afro and dancehall is about Ghanaian girls. “When we step onto the dance floor, we don’t joke at all’’, she said.

“ In fact, what actually motivated me to do the song was how the number of female artistes in the music industry is growing.  In addition to our number increasing, I think they are doing a great job with music and I just want to appreciate them,’’ she added.

She believes the hard work of female artistes in the industry is very motivating and that pushes her to come out with good music which people like to dance to.

Shegee Styla who came out with her debut album, My Time some time ago, sings beautifully on Baawasa which is rendered in both English and Pidgin

She also revealed that the video of Baawasa will be out soon and urged her fans to keep “on supporting me and I will also continue to give you great tunes.”
