Stonebwoy for AFRIMA conference

While fans of Stonebwoy are yet to come to terms with the fact that he did not win the Artiste of the Year at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, the Go Higher hitmaker has hit the road running with various activities.

He has been invited to attend the All Africa Music Awards in partnership with the African Union Commission music/culture conference scheduled for Banjul, Gambia on Wednesday, May 25.

Stonebwoy will represent West African artistes at the AUC-AFRIMA conference during the commemoration of the 10th African Union Youth Charter.

According to a letter written to Stonebwoy from the AFRIMA Secretariat, the AUC-AFRIMA Conference is ultimately aimed at unveiling the calender for the 2016 All Africa Music Awards tagged AFRIMA 3.0 among others.

The conference will also focus on a robust and intellectual session on the theme, “Using Music, Culture and Entertainment as tools for a new Africa". It will also discuss how to engage the shared African values and the spirit of Pan-Africanism for greater collaborations in culture and music for sustainable development in line with the AU cultural agenda for peace building, integration, democracy, economic advancement and youth social development.

The AUC-AFRIMA joint conference will bring together music professionals, creative/cultural industry experts and practitioners, award winning recording artistes and media practitioners among others.

Stonebwoy won the Artiste of the Year among other awards at the 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and was nominated in four categories this year out of which he won two - Dancehall Artiste of the Year and Dancehall Song of the Year.
