Anita Oduro

The passion that is Anita’s

She may be nervously twiddling her fingers now as her directorial debut approaches but Anita Oduro still sounds  confident about coming away with a good drama production tomorrow, November 15, at the Folks Place, National Theatre.

The Department of Theatre Arts of the University of Cape Coast graduate will direct The Perfect Man, her play about the intricacies of romantic love, which she has been rehearsing with a seven-member cast for several weeks now.

Ms Oduro graduated two years ago with a degree in Playwriting and Theatre Management. Tomorrow’s showing would be the first time she directs a project for public consumption.

‘The Perfect Man’ is about a young radio presenter who thinks she has seen and heard it all when it comes to what romantic love is about.

She falls for a character she least expects to love but does she stay in the relationship or try to get out of it because of her obscure notions about love?

“We have rehearsed thoroughly and we are set for something good,” Ms Oduro says.

Her sense of confidence partly stems from the fact that nearly all the cast and crew on the project are people she knew and worked with during her student days at the university.

“I’m blessed to be surrounded by people whose capabilities I can vouch for. We are all young and passionate about drama so we are putting in our best for the production,” Ms Oduro says.

‘The Perfect Man’ is produced by Royale Hauteur, a management and artistic production house in collaboration with playhouse.kom.
