There is life outside ANC: Malema
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema says there is life outside the African National Congress (ANC) and he will continue to challenge ANC decisions.
Malema has been addressing hundreds of his supporters outside the High Court in Polokwane after his trial was postponed.
The court has postponed the fraud, corruption and money laundering cases against Malema and others to August the third next year at the request of a lawyer representing one of the accused.
Malema, the owner of On-Point Engineering Lesiba Gwagwa, and Kagisho Dichabe are facing a total of 54 charges.
They allegedly defrauded Limpopo Roads and Transport Department of R53 million.
Judge Ephraim Makgoba says this is the last postponement as the case will be tried to finality when it comes before court next year.
Malema's attorney, Tumi Mokoena says he was ready for trial.
Mokoena says: "On our side we are ready, other counsellors are not ready. It happens in a criminal matter where there is more than one accused that others would not be ready and there would be a need for the postponement every now and then. It's not unusual. We accept it. As we have always maintained we are confident that we will get a not guilty verdict."
