Koa launches its first cocoa fruit juice in Ghana

Koa, a Swiss-Ghanaian start-up, has introduced its first cocoa fruit juice, Koa Natural, to the West African market through Ghana.

The juice is made from the white, fleshy part that surrounds the cocoa bean, which has never been utilized before.

The start-up in a statement said the juice is processed gently and has no added sugars, sweeteners, or additives, maintaining the natural sweet taste of the cocoa fruit.

Koa Natural contains essential minerals like potassium and magnesium that have health benefits such as regulating heartbeat, ensuring proper function of the muscles and nerves, and are essential for synthesizing protein and metabolizing carbohydrates.

The juice is versatile, with a smooth texture and tropical flavour that can be enjoyed alone, used as an ingredient in cocktails and mocktails, or even used in savoury foods.

Koa's innovation creates an extra source of income for Ghana's cocoa farmers by utilizing previously unused cocoa fruit pulp in the production of the juice.

Additionally, Koa's processing facility provides employment opportunities in Ghana's cocoa-growing regions, contributing to the country's economy and responsible growth in cocoa communities.

Koa is proud to have launched its first cocoa fruit juice in Ghana, and the product is now available for purchase in the country.

The launch of Koa Natural marks another milestone for the Swiss-Ghanaian start-up, which has collaborated with local and international chefs and the international food and beverage industry to develop recipes that enhance the juice's salty, sweet, and beverage applications.
