In an interview with The Mirror last Wednesday, the TV3 Mentor XI contestant real name Enoch Markwei, touched on his music, lifestyle, challenges and the future of his brand.
He said “being an introvert, I spend most of my time indoors, listening to different songs especially of artistes I admire.
This is to draw inspiration to write good songs”.
Marckel, who graduated with a diploma in Graphic Design from the Pizarro Institute of Technology, Spintex, Accra, said he started singing in his church choir and played drums and the keyboard.
He describes his genre of music as Afro-RnB, jazz, and a combination of Highlife and Hip life.
According to him, his biggest challenge so far in his career was not having a manager and an investor.

“Music is cost intensive because in order to make a ‘hit’ as an artiste, more recording sessions are needed plus promotion of the music on radio, TV and social media”, he said.
He said the industry had progressed significantly but room and support for upcoming artistes to grow should be looked at.
Currently, he is reinvesting all the money he got from playing small gigs back into his craft and encouraged up and coming artistes not to give up no matter the struggles.
He added that he had a lot to give the industry and that ‘Girlie O’ and ‘Only You’ were just the beginning. “Watch out for me Ghana, I would be the biggest star worldwide”, he exclaimed.
