The MOU enjoins Stallion Motors, representative of Hyundai, Honda, Audi and Skoda vehicles to help retool the CCTU Auto workshop, provide capacity building to CCTU staff and train students to acquire experiential and industrial experience through attachment at their centre in Accra.

Again, with the agreement, Stallion Ghana would provide necessary inputs in Auto Engineering curriculum development in order to beef up students’ practical experience and assist in marketing any collaborated programme as well as the service centre to attract participants and clients.

The two institutions would also run short courses for artisans in the central region and other interested parties.

The CCTU would for its part provide supporting lecturers and workshop spaces to facilitate the training and also serve as a service centre for Stallion Motors brand of vehicles.

The Vice Chancellor of the CCTU, Professor Joshua Owusu Sekyere said the cooperation would make the Department of Engineering efficient while strengthening the capacities of both staff and students.

He noted that there was a crucial need to build the gap between academia and industry adding that the collaboration was a step towards achieving that.

The Financial Controller of Stallion Motors Ghana Limited Mr Ganesh Phadele said the agreement would create even greater opportunities for staff and students that would hopefully positively impact on auto engineering education in the country.
