High school students battle for the ultimate entrepreneurial award

Ten private, three public and one inclusive high school in the Eastern and Greater Accra regions with about 40 student companies, made up of over 250 students are set to battle it out in the annual CR8TIFF Business Plan Competition for High Schools organised by LeadAfrique International.

Started in 2017, this year’s edition, the third in the series, is expected to run for six months [October 2019 - March 2020].

It is aimed at empowering students to find lasting solutions to everyday problems and create businesses out of the problems under the theme, "Let’s Make a Difference."

Over the years, participants of the annual CR8TIFF Business Competition have gained entrepreneurial, critical thinking, negotiation, communications and problem-solving skills and their confidence have been enhanced.

The competition goes through many phases including formation of student companies, the ideation stage, creation of a brand identity, financial planning and budgeting, business plan preparation and pitch day.

They receive cash and non-cash prizes as seed capital.

Participating schools in Season three are; Alpha Beta College, Aves International School, Ghana Christian International High School, Labone Senior High School, Legacy Girls College, MCS International School, Merton International School, Multi-Kids Inclusive School, New Nation School, Roman Ridge School, SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College, St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Tema International School and Tema Senior High School.
