Support for NSMQ
To support organisers of the competition to cater for the health needs of participants of the NSMQ, the Medifem Multi Specialist Hospital and Family Centre signed a healthcare sponsorship deal with Primetime Ghana Limited to make it the official health-care partner for the programme.
To that end, the hospital provided free primary healthcare to contestants, teachers, as well as the production crew of this year’s programme.
The agreement will also ensure a free one-year medical care cover for all finalists of the 2018 edition of the NSMQ competition.
Appreciation
The Business Development Manager, Miss Sena Adjasi, who received the award on behalf of the hospital, said the honour would spur the hospital on to do more to support the NSMQ and other educational programmes.
She also underscored Medifem’s commitment to support initiatives in the education sector, especially in the study of Science and Mathematics, and expressed appreciation to the organisers of the quiz for the recognition.
Background
The NSMQ, which started in 1993 with the aim of promoting the study of the sciences and mathematics while fostering healthy academic rivalry among senior high schools, is the longest-running independent production on television in the country.
This year’s edition was won by St Peter’s Senior High School, Nkwatia, in the Eastern Region which beat Adisadel College and West Africa Senior High School in the grand finale held at the National Theatre about a fortnight ago.
