A-Poly signs MoU with Veterinary Services Department
The Department of Applied Science of the Accra Polytechnic (A-Poly) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Veterinary Services Department (VSD) in Accra to give students the opportunity to undertake more practical lessons.

Prof. Sylvester Achio signed for the polytechnic while the acting Director of VSD, Dr Ben Aniwa, signed for the department.
The ceremony marks the beginning of a project that will strengthen the academic work of the students, build their expertise and prepare them for the job market in the field of applied science.
The Rector of A-Poly, Prof. Achio advised students of the institution to take advantage of the practical studies available to them in pursuit of their education.
According to him, practical studies equipped students with the necessary skills and also prepared them for the job market.
Partnership
Prof. Achio said the polytechnic had been sending its students for practical work at the VSD for the past 10 years, and indicated that the institution was encouraged to partner VSD because of the courses it offered and the change in technology.
The agreement, which is renewable, according to Prof Achio, would strengthen the academic ties of the institution in the areas of staff exchange, staff training, research collaboration and training students in practical work.
He lauded the initiative and added that it would enhance students’ ability in applied science and equip them with the needed skills and ideas.

Response from VSD
The Acting Director of VSD, Dr Ben Aniwa, said the project would serve as a training and reference point to encourage the student body of the polytechnic to know more about applied science and also to keep them abreast of contemporary technology.
