ADRA supports June 3 flood victims
The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), Ghana, in collaboration with the Adventist Community Services (ACS), and Ghana Union Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ghana have presented various items to the 37 Military Hospital and some survivors of the June 3, 2015 fire and flood disaster at Awoshie Abrantie at separate ceremonies in Accra.
The items, worth GH¢51,958, included boxes of gauze, cotton wool and crepe bandage, as well as quantities of rice, cooking oil, beans, salt, sugar, sachet water and used clothing.
Making the presentation, the Executive Secretary of the South Ghana Conference of the SDA Church, Pastor Dr Solomon Oko Trebi Hammond, said the church was always on the lookout for communities with a great self-help spirit to support them in times of need.
The Deputy Matron in charge of Administration at the 37 Military Hospital, Connel Ivy Tamakloe, received the donation on behalf of the hospital and expressed its gratitude to ADRA with a promise to put the items to good use.
The Project Manager of ADRA, Mrs Marigold Donfeh, who made the presentation at Awoshie, said the organisation would extend the gesture to other communities that were affected by the disaster.
