The presentation, which was made possible courtesy Advent International Limited, a company that imports medical equipment and disposables as well as does servicing, is towards the centenary celebration of the hospital.

Presenting the beds to the hospital in Accra last Monday, the Sales Manager of the company, Louis Azasoo, explained that following visits made to the hospital by personnel from the company, they were touched by the sight of some patients sleeping on the floor because there were not enough beds.

For that reason, he said, when they heard of the hospital's centenary celebration, they decided to make the presentation of the beds to them as a way of supporting them in their celebration and also alleviating the plight of patients on admission there.

Mr Azasoo, who was accompanied by the Service Manager, Anand Machindra Dalvi, to make the donation, said the company intended in future to make similar donations to the hospital every quarter.

The Director, Medical Affairs, KBTH, Dr Frank Owusu-Sekyere, who received the beds, appealed to more organisations and institutions to support the hospital explaining that they could for instance support the hospital in fixing new elevators at its various departments.

He explained that the elevators that were currently in use at the hospital were a bit old but very expensive to procure a new one, adding that the Ministry of Health was helping them in that regard. However, help from companies and institutions would also be greatly appreciated.
