Asokwa Assembly commissions DRIP equipment for road improvement

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asokwa, Chief Akwannuasah Gyimah, alongside the Member of Parliament for Asokwa, Madam Patricia Appiagyei, has commissioned road construction equipment under the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) for the municipality.

At the commissioning ceremony, where concrete-making machines, large trucks, graders, and other equipment were displayed, the MCE praised the government for the DRIP initiative. He noted that the new machines and vehicles would enable the assembly to address some of the bad roads in the area.

"I commend the government for this DRIP project and urge those trained to handle this equipment to do so with diligence as we commence road maintenance in the Asokwa Municipality," Chief Gyimah stated.

Madam Patricia Appiagyei, MP for Asokwa, urged the Assembly to take full advantage of the available machines to repair unmotorable roads and build on the road construction achievements of the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration.

"I encourage the people of Asokwa to acknowledge the government's substantial road construction efforts by voting massively for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as President and supporting all NPP parliamentary candidates across Ghana, so the NPP government can continue delivering transformational leadership," Madam Appiagyei appealed.

DRIP Initiative

The Ashanti Regional Coordinator for the DRIP project, Mr. Kwabena Senkyire, explained that the equipment provided aims to ensure all roads in the country are made motorable. He urged the Asokwa Assembly to make full use of the equipment to address road challenges and maintain the machines properly to benefit more people in the area.

Nana Yaw Wiredu, Assembly Member for Ahensan Estate and NALAG Representative for the Ashanti Region, noted that the DRIP equipment would enable various assemblies to address road issues more efficiently.

He added that many Assembly Members had lost the opportunity to continue their service with some Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) due to their failure to seek help in dealing with road problems in their electoral areas.
