The Deputy Managing Director of the group, Mr George Debrah, who made the presentation at Korle Bu on Friday, also announced a GH¢30,000 refurbishment package for the centre to mark Bamson’s 30th anniversary, which will be celebrated this month.

The package includes assorted paints and painting services to give a facelift to the Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre.

Mr Debrah said the management and staff of the companies in the Bamson Group, namely; Sikkens, Alisa Hotel and Glostal Aluminium Systems Limited, made the GH¢40,000 donation as their contribution to the national effort to support the various health centres treating the June 3 disaster victims.

“We know that good health is essential for wealth creation, so as a business, we have a policy to always support health institutions in the country to offer the best healthcare to Ghanaians.

This, we believe, will help to keep the country’s human resource healthy enough to push forward the nation’s development agenda,” Mr Debrah stated.

He said the Bamson Group decided to paint the Burns Centre because it wanted to help promote the culture of maintenance among Ghanaians and also because the doctors, nurses and other members of staff at the centre deserved to work in a beautiful environment in order to feel good about their workplace.

He noted that plastic surgery was a very important service in the healthcare system and thus assured the management and staff of the centre of Bamson’s continued support for their activities.

On behalf of the staff and management of Bamson, the Deputy Managing Director wished the June 3 victims on admission in the various hospitals, a speedy recovery and also extended the group’s sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives in the disaster. “We wish all of them well,” he said.

“Indeed, we must all keep the environment clean to avoid floods and other disasters that only bring untold hardship upon the people,” he advised the public.

The Administrator of the Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre, Mr Seth Quaynor, thanked the group for the donation and appealed to individuals and organisations for more support.
