Consider emoluments of assembly members — Osei-Ameyaw

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman, Mr Kofi Osei-Ameyaw, has observed that it is time the government considered the issue of assembly members’ emoluments.

According to Mr Osei- Ameyaw who is also the Vice-Chairman of the Subsidiary Legislation of Parliament, the issue of Article 250 (2) on emolument of assembly members was still outstanding and needed to be resolved once and for all.

He said it was high time they talked about the Electoral Assembly because the district, municipal and metropolitan assemblies emanated from the Electoral Assemblies, and as such they needed to be treated well.

Mr Osei-Ameyaw was addressing members of the Asuogyaman District Assembly at its first ordinary meeting of the second session of the seventh assembly at Atimpoku in the Eastern Region.
