The case of the six accomplices of convicted cocaine courier, Nayele Ametefe, has been adjourned to February 24, 2015.

This is to allow the prosecution more time to complete investigations into the case.

The six including a Foreign Service officer, Abiel Ashietey Armah and a businessman Alhaji Mohammed Dawood have been charged for aiding Nayele Ametefeh to traffic 12 kilograms of cocaine to the United Kingdom. The others are Sadala Nuhu and Nana Akua Amponsah, both businesswomen.

They have all pleaded not guilty to the charge of aiding and abetment of crime and have since been granted bail.

Nayele alias Ruby Adu Gyamfi who confessed to the offence of trafficking of cocaine was on January 5, 2015 sentenced to a prison term of 8years 8months in the United Kingdom.

When the case of the accomplices came up for hearing at an Accra circuit court presided over by Justice Francis Obiri on Wednesday, the prosecution asked for more time to complete their investigations but the defense expressed dissatisfaction over the prosecutions delay in completing investigations.

One defense counsel, Frank Davies said they were not happy with the way the prosecution was always coming to court to ask for more time and prayed the court to give the prosecution timelines for the investigations.

The court however refused to give timelines but cautioned that if it realized that the prosecution was taking too long to complete their investigations, it may be forced to dismiss the case.
