Ensure good sanitation practices — DCE
A GH¢55,000 public place of convenience has been constructed for the people of Gomoa Mankessim as part of measures to ensure proper sanitation practices in the community.

The toilet facility was put up by the Gomoa West District Assembly in response to a request by the chiefs and the community about a year ago.

The Gomoa West District Chief Executive, Mr Theophilus Aidoo Mensah, said in order to bring about improvement in the lives of the people, development projects were spread evenly across the community.
He noted that the assembly had constructed a six-unit classroom block and an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre for the town and had also provided a polytank to improve water supply in the town.
According to him, the government would not renege on promises it made to the people and was committed towards addressing the needs of the people in the district.
Maintenance of the facility
He urged the people to set up a committee that would properly manage the facility and use the proceeds that accrue to fund other development projects.
He said the committee that would be set up must ensure that the facility was properly maintained to prolong its lifespan.
A Revenue Superintendent of the Gomoa West District, Mr Isaac Kwesi Donkoh, urged the people to pay their taxes to enable the assembly to undertake the needed development projects for the district.

He noted that the payment of taxes such as property rates, license fees and other rates were chief sources of revenue for the district assembly.
The Tufuhen of Gomoa Mankessim, Nana Adu Acquah II, commended the government for its efforts at improving the livelihoods of people in the town in particular and the district in general.
