Evangel magazine launched

The maiden edition of a Christian lifestyle magazine, Evangel has been launched, with a call on the youth to challenge themselves by engaging in reading more Christian literature instead of spending time on social media.

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, Rt Rev Dr Seth Agidi who made the call said currently most Ghanaian youth spent most of their time on social media engaging in practices that did not lead to their spiritual growth.

Speaking at the launch of the magazine, Rev Seth Agidi lauded the Evangel team for taking up the initiative of starting a Christian Magazine that would serve not just content from the Evangelical Presbyterian Church but also go beyond and cover contents from other churches.

The maiden edition dubbed ‘The Alpha Edition’ features Dr. Nelson K.R. Damale, an Obstetrician Gynaecologist at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) on the cover page for his immense contribution to reducing maternal health death among pregnant women.

It also features popular Ghanaian actor and pastor, Timothy Bentum, who shares his inspirational life changing story.

Evangel Magazine is aimed at bringing the spotlight on Christian personalities who were making impact and improving the lives of others.

The maiden edition covers contents on Retrospect, Spirituality & Testimonies, Health & Fitness, Edutainment and Events from a Christian perspective.

Yardstick for Christian

The Editor-In-Chief, Mr Solomon Sedinam Agbemenya who said God revealed the idea of the magazine to him to serve as a yardstick for Christian living also used the platform to launch the official website for Evangel Magazine; www.evangelmagazine.com.

He said the magazine which was a bi annual magazine, would highlight Christian values as well as bring inspiration and guidance to many Christian readers.

He added that the Evangel Magazine was aimed at providing an avenue to for churches to document and publicise their activities.

“We are excited to bring to you a Christian magazine that will strengthen and support our spiritual lives as well as offer practical perspective of our everyday Christian life”

He added that the Evangel team would take up social responsibility initiatives by identifying deprived communities within and outside the Greater Accra Region and support them with basic needs to help them improve their living standards.
