Ghana Baptist University presents wheelchairs to PWDs
The Ghana Baptist University College (GBUC) has presented a number of wheelchairs to the health directorate of the Asokore Mampong Municipality in the Ashanti Region to support Persons with Disability (PWDs) in the area.

It is on record that the GBUC began its operations at Asokore Mampong. Having grown over the years, the GBUC does not hesitate to give back to society, especially the needy in that area.
The Registrar of the GBUC, Rev. Dr Amanfo Ayim-Nyarkoh, on behalf of the university community presented three wheelchairs to support PWDs in the Asokore Mampong area.
At a presentation ceremony which formed part of activities marking the opening of the nursing school and clinic of the GBUC at its Abuakwa campus, the registrar said as reflected in the establishment of Baptist medical centres, health concerns were very paramount to both the church and the university.
He said the GBUC had pledged to support PWDs and the presentation of the wheelchairs was a demonstration of its commitment to that pledge.
Mr Ayim-Nyarko said measures were in place to make more of such presentations to improve the living conditions of PWDs in the area.
He said not all PWDs were in need and added that the GBUC would not hesitate to reach out to those among them who needed support.
Both the immediate past President of the GBUC, Rev. Dr Kojo Osei-Wusuh, and the current President of the GBUC, who doubles as the President of the Ghana Baptist Convention, Rev. Dr Ernest Adu-Gyamfi, prayed that the chairs would work out some miracles for the PWDs who would become beneficiaries.

The Asokore Mampong Municipal Health Director, Mr Ofori Amoah, who took delivery of the wheelchairs, expressed gratitude to the GBUC.
He said the health directorate was ready at all times to work closely with the GBUC on behalf of the PWDs in the area.
Mr Amoah gave an assurance of a more beneficial relationship with the GBUC so that together they would work out something to improve the lives of the people, especially the needy in society.
