Asante Gold Bibiani Limited hands over newly built school block to GES

Asante Gold Bibiani Limited has handed over a newly constructed school complex to the Ghana Education Service in Bibiani Municipality as part of the resettlement programme for the Bibiani Old Town and Zongo communities.

The project, located at the resettlement site, includes a kindergarten, primary school, and junior high school, along with seven teacher accommodation units, including a two-bedroom apartment for the headmaster.

Speaking at the project handover ceremony, Dave Anthony, President and Chief Executive Officer of Asante Gold Corporation, expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far and said the handover of the school reflected the company’s commitment to delivering on its promise to the affected communities.

He provided statistics indicating that the first 100 housing units are expected to be completed and handed over by June 2026, to help the Bibiani resettlement programme move forward steadily.

He lauded the collaborative efforts of all major stakeholders, particularly traditional authorities and affected communities, in completing the facility.

The CEO was confident that, with such modern facilities, the school would begin operations at the start of the next term.

On his part, the Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area and President of the National House Chiefs, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, commended Asante Gold Corporation for making meaningful progress on a resettlement project that will improve safety and living conditions for affected residents.

Ogyeahoho admonished the Ghana Education Service personnel who would be posted to the facility, urging them to ensure the school block is kept neat and properly maintained to help it last longer.
