Chevening Alumni Ghana inaugurates executives

New executives of Chevening  Alumni Association of Ghana have been sworn into office at a ceremony at the British High Commissioner’s Residence in Accra.

The occasion which also witnessed the annual general meeting of the group, marked a significant milestone of the association’s commitment to foster leadership, collaboration and national development.

The 2025-2026 executives are expected to bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their roles and drive impactful initiatives that align with the Chevening ethos of building a global network of future leaders.

They are: President, Eugene E. Tornyeavah; Vice-President, Nadia Teresa Abugah, and General-Secretary, Prosper Dzitse.

The position of Assistant Secretary went to Sabina Morgan; Organising Secretary, Roissa Darko, while the Treasurer is Mary Wetani Agoriwo, with the Public Relations Officer position going to Kinglove Adu-Mensah Junior.

Dedication

Mr Tornyeavah expressed members dedication to advancing the goals of the Chevening community in the country.

“We are honoured to take on this responsibility and are committed to strengthening the bonds within our network, empowering our members and contributing to national development through innovative projects and partnerships,” he said.

The president said his outfit looked forward to a year of impactful projects, strengthened collaborations and continued growth.

The Chairperson of the event, Mr Kwasi Okoh, emphasised the importance of unity and collective action in driving national development.

He said: “As you assume your new roles, I charge you to build upon the foundations laid, to innovate, and to propel our society to even greater heights.”

The event was graced by the Head of the Political and Governance Team at the British High Commission, Mr Hooman Nouruzi, who commended Chevening Alumni Ghana for its continued efforts in promoting excellence and leadership.

Chevening is the UK Government’s international awards programme aimed at developing global leaders. Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the programme offers fully funded scholarships to outstanding individuals with leadership potential to study in the UK.

Chevening Alumni Ghana remains a vibrant community of change-makers, united by their shared experience as beneficiaries of the prestigious Chevening Scholarship.

Over the years, the association has spearheaded numerous initiatives in education, entrepreneurship and social development, leaving an indelible mark on Ghana’s progress.
