FirstBank opens Takoradi Market Circle branch
FirstBank Ghana has relaunched its Takoradi branch at the Central Business District (CBD) in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis.
Officials of the bank explained that the new branch would serve the individual and the business community in the Western and Western North regions and was strategically positioned for easy access by all.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of FirstBank Ghana, Victor Yaw Asante, at the sod-cutting ceremony, said as a business, “we recognise that Takoradi is a hub for both lower-end and upper-end SMEs, as well as retail banking clients.
It is also the head office of very significant resource-based institutions in mining, oil and gas, as well as other industry support service companies”.
The bank, he added, remained committed to empowering the Ghanaian populace with channels that enabled them to bank anywhere at any time as part of its financial inclusion drive.
Considering the prospects of the region and CBD, Mr Asante said the branch would act as an economic catalyst for the local communities around Takoradi and its environs.
The MD said the new branch would provide financing options for small businesses, which were often considered the backbone of local economies.
“The branch will also support our efforts to offer world-class banking services that deliver our gold standard of value and excellence, placing our customers at the heart of what we do,” Mr Asante said.
Over the last few years, he said the bank had witnessed a surge in businesses established to meet the growing needs of the bank’s fast-expanding population with varied levels of needs.
With many of the businesses there being small and medium enterprises (SMEs), Mr Asante said the bank was committed to assisting them, alongside all other segments across all sectors in the region and the metropolis.
The MD/CEO of FirstBank Ghana said with the new branch the facilities and services had been carefully thought through and designed to better meet the diverse needs of its clients, including those receiving foreign remittances.
“Aside from our channels and other products, our collections platform presents you, our valued clients and customers, with options to make payments for government services, school fees, and others,” he said.
“The Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) offering is available to provide solutions to current and potential customers so that sending and receiving money to and from various parts of the African continent is well facilitated,” Mr Asante said.
The MD/CEO of FirstBank Ghana added that the bank aimed to create a banking environment that fostered growth, convenience and accessibility for all customers and prospects in Takoradi in particular and the three regions – Western, Central and Western North, in general.
“We commit to continually supporting the financial aspirations of individuals and businesses alike with tailor-made products and services, advisory services, and our channels.
“As a bank, we pledge to maintain the highest standards of customer service, ensuring your banking experience is always seamless and satisfactory,” Mr Asante assured the patrons.
He said FirstBank Ghana looked forward to continuing its partnership with the customers to drive mutual growth and success.
Meeting customer needs
The Takoradi Market Circle Branch Manager of FirstBank, David Komlagah, implored individuals and businesses to bank with the financial institution.
He said the branch was very much aware of the needs of customers and gave the assurance that the management of the branch would do extremely well to enhance the image of the bank.
Some customers who were present gave various reasons they would remain with FirstBank, citing the bank’s approach to business and handling of customers.
They commended the staff and team and urged them to remain committed to its service culture.
