Esuowin Chief hands over renovated school block

The local Methodist Junior High School (JHS) of Esuowin in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region has had its school block renovated to enhance teaching and learning.

The renovation works on the six-unit classroom block were initiated by the Chief of the town, Nana Akyena Kwagyan Nuamah V, with support from some individuals of the community and old pupils of the school.

In addition, Nana Nuamah V donated 11 computers and two printers to facilitate the teaching and learning of ICT in the school.

Advancing education delivery

Handing over the renovated school block to the management of the school,  Nana Nuamah V said the rehabilitation of the school and the donation of the computers demonstrated his commitment to advancing education delivery in the community.

He pointed out that adequate infrastructure played a critical role in enhancing quality education delivery and said the improved classroom environment would play a pivotal role in enhancing education delivery.

He pledged to work with other key stakeholders to establish a community senior high school (SHS) to help bring secondary education to the doorstep of the people in the area.

Commending the individuals who supported the renovation project, Nana Nuamah V further encouraged members of the community to join hands and support the development of the Esuowin community.

The Headmistress of the school, Barbara Boakyewaa Mensah, expressed profound gratitude to the chief for his continued support of the school.

That, she said, was a demonstration of Nana Nuamah’s commitment to promoting quality education in his area.

She also took the opportunity to recognise the significant contributions made by the past pupils of the school and said it had helped to improve education delivery in the school.

Mrs Mensah further extended her appreciation to some individuals who had been instrumental in supporting the school's growth through their philanthropic efforts.

The Assemblyman for Esuowin Electoral Area, Richard K. Achina, said he would continue to work with all stakeholders to bring the needed development to the community.
