The KETA Senior High Technical School (KETASCO) contestants in this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) and their coaches have paid a courtesy call on the Editor, Graphic, and the Editorial Board in Accra.

The KETASCO team, which was led by a coach and past students’ representative of the school in the 2024 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), Dr Benjamin Mawunya Boafor, included Master Edem Clinton Adorsoo, Miss Perpetual Sefakor Gakpetor, Master Chris Adabla and Master Frederick Adjavor-Sowalo.

Team

The Graphic editorial team, led by the Editor, Graphic, Theophilus Yartey, welcomed the team. Other members of the editorial team were the Chief Sub-Editor, Zakaria Alhassan; News Editor, Samuel Doe Ablordeppey; Sub-Editor, Timothy Gobah; Deputy News Editor, Michael Quaye; Editor of Graphic Digital, Enoch Darfa Frimpong; Digital Services Manager, Francis Osabutey, and Education and Agriculture Editor, Severious Kale Dery.

Dr Boafor said that despite KETASCO’s limited resources, the school had excelled in the NSMQ, reaching the finals twice in the last four years.

He said aside from PRESEC, Legon and Prempeh College, KETASCO was the only school to have achieved that feat in recent years, a demonstration of its commitment to academic excellence.

Appeal

Dr Boafor appealed to stakeholders of the school, particularly past students, to support their alma mater to acquire the necessary facilities to prepare students adequately for the contest.
Sharing their aspirations for the future, Master Clinton expressed his determination to become a commercial farmer.

While planning to pursue further studies in mechanical engineering, he intends to apply his expertise in that field to the agricultural sector, which he sees as holding great promise for the nation’s future.
