Kle Musum Quarter, Tsie We lands without alienation void — Teshie Wulomo
The Osabu and Ayiku Wulomo of Teshie, Nuumo Adjei Sankuma III, has stated that any land that falls within the Kle Musum Quarter/Tsie We family lands and properties that have not been alienated by him is null and void.
He said such properties or lands which had not been duly alienated by him would not pass any interest in a purported lessee.
A statement issued at Teshie, Accra, said the Osabu and Ayiku Wulomo of the Teshie Traditional Area was the head and lawful representative of Kle Musum Quarter/Tsie We, as well as the Kle Musum Mantse.
It stated that the Osabu and Ayiku Wulomo was also the custodian of all Kle Musum Quarter lands and the only gazetted Osabu and Ayiku Wulomo of Teshie within the Teshie Traditional Area.
The statement outlined the Tsie We/Kle Musum Quarter lands as stretching from parts of Teshie to parts of East Legon Otinshie and Adjirigano areas.
It said those lands had been duly registered with the Lands Commission with Land Title numbers on them.
The statement said ever since Teshie was founded in 1710, the head of the Tsie We/Kle Musum quarter had always been the Osabu and Ayiku Wulomo of Teshie who had obtained several judicial blessings and that he and his elders were the only persons who had the mandate to alienate Kle Musum Quarter lands.
It added that Kle Musum Quarter/Tsie We family had never installed, appointed or created any office of the Dzaase Tse or Dzaase ever since Teshie was founded.
The statement said Kle Musum Quarter was made up of eight ruling houses, namely: Tsie We, Amartse We, Nii Okai We, Nyonmo Tsaanaa, Mante Tse We, Akoblen, Atreko We and Ashia We, and that all the Kle Musum Quarter lands had been vested in Tsie We family.
It said there were three ruling houses within the Tsie We family and that all the ruling houses had unique stool names.
Ruling houses
It said the Osabu and Ayiku Wulomo of Teshie was rotational, considering the three ruling houses at Tsie We/Kle Musum Quarter and that the mandate of the nomination and appointment of Osabu and Ayiku Wulomo was only vested in the Tsie We family.
It explained that the death of a ruling Osabu and Ayiku Wulomo legitimately gave the opportunity for the next house to appoint the next Osabu and Ayiku Wulomo and that nomination and appointment of a new Osabu and Ayiku Wulomo was only done by the presiding head of the succeeding house.
