Kobi Hemaa Osisiadan-Bekoe wins global award
The Director of Corporate Affairs at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT, Kobi Hemaa Osisiadan-Bekoe, has been named Most Ethics-Driven Communication Leader of the Year at the Strategic Global Awards 2026, a prestigious international platform recognising excellence in strategic communication and leadership.
The award, presented in Brussels, celebrates professionals who demonstrate outstanding commitment to ethical communication practices in complex and high-stakes environments.
Ms Osisiadan-Bekoe’s recognition stems from her leadership in managing communication strategy for the Eskills4Jobs Initiative under the Ghana Digital Acceleration Project, funded by the World Bank and aligned with Ghana’s national ICT development agenda.
Initiative
Implemented during Ghana’s election period, the initiative faced a significant risk of political misinterpretation.
She designed and institutionalised a communication ethics framework, embedding transparency, accountability, inclusivity and non-partisanship into the Centre’s communication systems.
This governance-based approach ensured strict separation between institutional messaging and political narratives, while strengthening public trust.
The initiative trained over 1,400 beneficiaries across eight regions and 22 communities, achieving 50 per cent female participation.
Beyond numbers, the initiative enhanced institutional credibility, avoided political controversy, and expanded partnerships into five new regions, with endorsements from academic institutions, traditional leaders and development partners.
Importance
Speaking after receiving the award, Osisiadan-Bekoe, a public sector communication leader, emphasised the importance of ethics in building sustainable communication systems.
She noted that ethical communication was foundational to trust and must be embedded within organisational structures, especially in environments where public perception and policy intersect. Her recognition reflects a growing global emphasis on governance, accountability and responsible communication practices in both public and private sectors.
Osisiadan-Bekoe is widely regarded as a public diplomacy expert, an AI prompt engineer, and a strategic communication professional with over 18 years of experience spanning public sector governance, corporate communication, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management.
She holds a strong academic background in communication and public relations and is an accredited public relations practitioner.
Over the years, her work has earned multiple recognitions within the communication industry, reflecting her consistent commitment to excellence and ethical practice.
Her work extends beyond Ghana, with advisory experience across Africa and Europe, including consulting for brands and politically exposed stakeholders in high-trust and sensitive environments.
She is known for championing ethical communication as a strategic tool, rather than a compliance function, positioning transparency and integrity as drivers of institutional legitimacy and long-term impact.
Recognition
The Strategic Global Awards bring together communication leaders from across the world, highlighting innovation, leadership, and impact in the profession.
Osisiadan-Bekoe’s win not only marks a personal milestone but also positions Ghana and Africa prominently in global conversations on ethical communication leadership.
As digital transformation continues to reshape economies and societies, her work underscores the critical role of ethical communication in ensuring inclusive, transparent, and accountable development.
Her achievement serves as both recognition and a call to action for communication professionals worldwide to uphold the highest standards of integrity and excellence.
