They are Bishop Elisha Salfu Amoako, the founder and General Overseer of Alive Chapel International, and Mouha Amoako.

A statement issued yesterday and signed by the Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, said the two were currently in custody assisting with investigation.

Investigations

The police said investigations had so far established that the 16-year-year-old boy who was driving a Jaguar SUV vehicle, in the company of another occupant, rammed his car into a 4x4 Acura vehicle being driven by Joseph Ackah, with four other occupants, at Mensah Wood Street, East Legon.

The statement added that both cars caught fire and burned beyond recognition.

“The investigation further indicated that three of the five victims in the Acura vehicle during the accident were rescued, but two others, both 12 years of age, lost their lives.

“Two of the rescued victims who sustained minor injuries were treated and discharged, while the third is still on admission receiving medical attention,” the statement said.

The statement said the 16-year-old boy with the other occupant in the Juaguar vehicle were also rescued and were currently on admission at the hospital.

POMAB visits

It added that a team from the Police Management Board, led by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare, yesterday visited the bereaved family to commiserate with them and also visited the injured at the hospital.

The police, therefore, assured the public of a thorough investigation into the accident to bring closure to the affected family, “as we continue to remember them in our prayers in this difficult time”.

A CCTV footage that went viral over the weekend showed a speeding white vehicle ramming into another vehicle on the street.

The two cars caught fire as a result of the clash.

The driver of the white car, who was wearing a white attire, was seen running out of the car after the collision.

It took the intervention of the officials of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) to douse the fire which led to two people burning beyond recognition.
