Petrine Addae launches ‘Single and Being — Trust the Faithful God’ book
Development Professional and Author, Petrine Addae, has launched a new book titled, Single and Being – Trust the Faithful God.
The publication highlights the author's experiences and reflections on singlehood and seeks to empower women to embrace their individuality, pursue their dreams and live purposefully, placing their full trust in God despite societal pressures.
Speaking at the launch, Ms Addae explained that the inspiration behind the book came after years of reflection on her own journey and the stories of other women navigating similar experiences.
“Single and Being” has been a journey and more like a call. For a long time, I was not ready to write it because the subject of being single is very sensitive and rarely discussed openly. Writing this book meant laying myself bare to the world,” she said.
Ms Addae, who is the Head of Women Partnerships and Strategic Growth at the CBG, further explained that the book was anchored on three central pillars: posture, position and purpose, which guided individuals in navigating life’s uncertainties.
The pillars
She clarified that posture emphasised maintaining an attitude of gratitude regardless of one’s circumstances, noting that being unmarried should never become a reason to give up on life or lose confidence.
Instead, she encouraged women to remain thankful for God’s goodness and the blessings in their lives, which ultimately empowered them to stand tall and move forward with confidence.
The second pillar, position, focused on placing one’s complete trust in God. She noted that individuals must deliberately position themselves in a place of unwavering faith, trusting in God’s promises and believing that whatever He has spoken will surely come to pass.
The final pillar, purpose, highlights the importance of discovering and pursuing one’s divine assignment in life.
According to her, every individual was created with a purpose and living in alignment with that purpose brought fulfilment and allowed one’s light to shine.
“Ultimately, this book encourages people to trust God, discover their purpose and live according to His plan.
Life is not only about the things we acquire, but about fulfilling the assignment God has given us,” she added.
Powerful message
Launching the book, the Executive Director of Salt & Light Ministries, Rev. Dr Joyce Rosalind Aryee, said the publication carried a powerful message about trusting God even when societal expectations suggest otherwise.
“The book really is about trusting God even when society is thinking something different. The whole message is about being yourself and understanding that one thing you may not have should not define your life,” she said.
The book’s foreword was written by the Vice-President of the Eastwood Anaba Ministries, Reverend Rosemond Anaba, with endorsements from several prominent personalities, including Oheneyere Gifty Anti, Professor Hannah Acquah, Kofi Aryee and Professor Esi Awuah, who commended the author for addressing an important but often overlooked subject.
