TUDEC supports PWDs, others to mark Eid-ul-Adha

TUDEC Development Centre, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Accra, has distributed parcels of meat to various families across the country, including vulnerable families and persons with disability (PWDs).

More than 18,000 families benefited from the gesture, which was in partnership with Time to Help, a charity organisation aimed at helping people fight poverty, eliminate social injustice, war, and persecution and support people who cannot meet their basic needs.

The presentations formed part of the 2025 Eid-ul-Adha activities, which saw 600 livestock being sacrificed across 22 designated locations, reaching more than 18,000 families throughout the country.

Collaboration

The Qurban programme was conducted in close collaboration with local municipalities and traditional leaders such as chief imams, among others.

Some volunteers from Time to Help participated in the activities to ensure effective organisation and cultural sensitivity in every region involved.

“Eid-ul-Adha is a time of sharing, remembering others, and standing in solidarity with those in need,” TUDEC said in a statement.

“In line with Islamic tradition, where the sacrificial meat is divided among one's family, relatives and neighbours, we aimed to reflect the true spirit of this festival — compassion, unity and community.

“TUDEC remains committed to promoting humanitarian values through educational, social and charitable initiatives and plans to expand its outreach in the coming years,” the statement added.
