Wisconsin University College unveils Cybersecurity, AI lab
Wisconsin International University College (WIUC) has inaugurated a new Information and Communications Technology (ICT) laboratory for the teaching and learning of cybersecurity, digital forensic and artificial intelligence (AI).

The facility, which is also expected to enhance the teaching and learning of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), was launched at the school’s campus in Accra last Tuesday.
It was part of the school’s initiative for the introduction of its new Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics, ICT and Business Computing programme.
The laboratory is equipped with cutting-edge technology and modern equipment designed to support advanced research, practical learning, and professional development in the realms of cybersecurity, digital forensics and STEM disciplines.
It features the latest forensic analysis tools, threat detection systems and secure computing environments.

At the ceremony to inaugurate the lab, the President of the WIUC, Professor Obeng Mireku, said the new facility underscored the college’s commitment to excellent education through practical study.
“The launch of this cutting-edge lab for ICT education further underscores our commitment to excellence. Our new laboratory will focus on critical areas such as Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Artificial Intelligence and STEM,” Prof. Mireku said.
“This facility represents a remarkable advancement in technology education in Ghana, demonstrating our dedication in significantly contributing to the nation’s ICT education,” he added.

He stressed that the lab would help to empower users to simulate and analyse real-world scenarios, enhancing their capability to handle cyber threats and digital crimes effectively.
