The drinks, which included bottles of Schnapps and Dry Gin, were presented by a delegation led by the Managing Director of Ghana Post, Mr Eric Yao.

Other members of the delegation were the General Manager of Business Development, Mr Samuel Adu Boafo, the General Manager of Corporate Services, Mrs Elizabeth Acquah, the head of Public Relations (PR), Ms Selina Azu, and a board member, Mr Isaac Livingstone Asamoah.

Company’s responsibility

Presenting the items, Mr Yao said the donation was in response to a request from the Ga Traditional Council to the company to support the festival, adding it was also in fulfilment of the company’s social responsibility to the people.

“Apart from generating money for national development, Ghana Post has a corporate social responsibility of supporting the underprivileged, health sector and the environment,” he said.

Mr Yao said Ghana Post was situated in Accra and the company, therefore, deemed it a responsibility to support the Ga Traditional council in the celebration of the festival.

Gratitude

The Ga Mantse, Boni Nii Tackie Adama Latse II, who received the items, thanked the company for the support and called on other corporate organisations to donate towards the festival.

He expressed gratitude to the company for its apt response to the request.

Nii Tackie Adama Latse II also called for public-private partnership between the Ghana Post and other private postal companies to expand the scope of postal services in the country.

He urged Ghanaians to respect their culture because it was their identity.
