The items also included a scanner, a printer, a photocopier and furniture.

Additionally, the GTA donated GH¢100,000 cash to support the administrative expenses of the federation.

The items were purchased by the GTA from the Ghana Tourism Development Fund (GTDF).

The GTDF was established in October 2012 to support the development of the tourism industry.

Sensitisation exercises

Presenting the items, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MTCCA), Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare, advised the federation to use the items in its sensitisation exercises, particularly, the collection of the one per cent tourism levy.

Mr Ofosu-Agyare said revenue was critical since it would provide the financial muscle for the government to initiate more development projects in the tourism sector.

Communicate effectively

For his part, the President of GHATOF, Mr David Nana Anim, said the logistics would be used for the intended purpose. “We have been redundant because our federation has no vehicle to run its errands. Now, we can liaise with our 24 associations effectively,” he said.
