The situation poses a threat to vehicles that use the road and is also creating an inconvenience for other road users.

In addition to other worries, the stench emanating from the refuse is so bad that residents find it difficult to stay in their rooms or concentrate on their businesses.

A number of drivers and residents at Adugyama whom the Daily Graphic spoke to said they had lodged complaints with the district assembly on a number of occasions, but had not received any response.

A spokesperson for the residents, Madam Afua Amponsah, said she believed their plight was because of the absence of a district chief executive for the area.

That notwithstanding, she has repeated residents’ call on the assembly to come to the aid of the people by clearing the refuse.
