Handing over the items, Nii Ashietey indicated his wish to have been able to support them much earlier and explained that circumstances beyond his control made that impossible.

He thanked his constituents for having the patience to wait.

He appealed to them to cooperate with the contractor working on the Odawna roads to enable him to complete the work on schedule.

He also reminded the people that the de-silting of the main Odaw drain was still in progress and appealed to them to desist from dumping refuse into the drain to allow work to go on smoothly.

The Chairman of the Odawna GNAG, Mr Kwasi Odame, who received the items on behalf of the victims, thanked the MP for his support and expressed the hope that the items would help alleviate the plight of the victims.
