Maulvi Wahab Adam is dead (updated)

The Ameer and Missionary in charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana, Maulvi Dr Wahab A. Adam  has died.

Dr Wahab A. Adam died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra after a protracted battle with ill heath.

The General Secretary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ahmed Anderson, who confirmed the sad passing of one of Ghana's peace icons, said a formal announcement will be made shortly.

A statement issued by the Mission, signed by the General Secretary, said it is “With heavy heart, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana, wishes to announce the death of Maulvi Dr. A. Wahab Adam, the Ameer & Missionary-In-Charge. Innact lillaahe wa innaa ilaihe Raajeoun. (We are all from Allah, and to Him shall we all return).

“The late Ameer passed away today, 22nd June, 2014, at about 1lam, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

“The National Executive Council will meet shortly to announce the burial arrangement, in line with Islamic Tradition.

“Dr. Wahab Adam left behind a wife and 7 children.

“Meanwhile, a book of condolence will be opened at the Mission's National Headquarters at Osu, Nyaniba Estates, from Monday, 23rd June, 2014, at 10.00am.”
