MTN donates to infant triplets who lost mum at birth

MTN has donated food items, detergents, food supplements and cash to support the upkeep of a set of triplets who lost their mum during child birth.

Ms Linda Dankwah lost her life in April this year after giving birth to the triplets — two boys and a girl — through a caesarean section.

She already had five children, including a set of twins, before the triplets.

The mother of the deceased, Ms Akosua Twumwaah, has had to cater for the babies thereafter.

Donation

Making the presentation in Kumasi, the acting General Manager of MTN Northern Business District, Mr Simon Amoh, said the company was touched by the plight of the children when it heard about the incident.

He said it was the responsibility of the company to come to the aid of individuals such as those children in need and not only institutions in need.

He expressed the hope that the items would help the family to meet the needs of the children and help in providing them with good care.

Appreciation

The grandmother of the children, Ms Twumwaah, expressed gratitude to the company for coming to their aid.

She said she was surprised that the company knew of their plight, since the family did not even make any formal request to them for assistance.
