NHIS electronic hospital management system experiencing temporary disruptions

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has announced that some of its electronic hospital management systems across the country are currently experiencing temporary disruptions.

In a statement issued by the Corporate Affairs Directorate, the Authority said all NHIA-credentialed healthcare providers are to continue offering uninterrupted healthcare services to National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) members despite the challenge.

It explained that providers are advised to use the alternative mobile phone–based platform to generate Claims Check Codes (CCC) to ensure the smooth continuation of care and service delivery.

The NHIA also directed that NHIS members should not be subjected to any financial burden or out-of-pocket payments during the period of disruption.

The Authority expressed appreciation to healthcare providers and NHIS members for their patience, understanding, and cooperation as the Ministry of Health, together with relevant stakeholders, works urgently to restore full system functionality.
