No bad person will join Rotary Club, says the outgone President of the Rotary Club of Winneba, Dr Yaw Nyadu Offei.
According to him, people who joined Rotary Clubs were individuals who on their own volition had decided to do humanitarian services at a very formal way to the communities in which they live.
Speaking at an induction ceremony for a new President for the Rotary Club of Winneba, Dr Kwaa Aidoo alias Ziggi, the outgoing President, Dr Offei said Rotary was about service to humanity.

Dr Aidoo will now lead a new team of Board and Club directors to steer affairs of the club for the 2019/2020 Rotary Year.
Dr Offei said although the Rotary Club of Winneba was barely two years, members of the club had contributed in diverse ways to improve the club’s visibility as well as offering interventions for the within the Winneba enclave.
Enumerating some of the successes the club chalked under his leadership, he explained that the club jointly organised a health screening exercise and donation to the Woarabeba community with the Rotary Club of Accra-Labone.

Dr Offei said the Winneba Club would continue to collaborate with other clubs both in the country and abroad to support their programmes.

He said, for instance, that the Rotary Club of Kidman Park had raised about US$5,000 to support the club’s latrine project at the University Practice School at Winneba (UNIPRA).
For his part, the new President, Dr Aidoo, who is also the third person to serve as president since the club started at Winneba, pledged to continue the good works of his predecessor and to raise the club’s image even higher.

He called for the strengthening of the club’s activities to make their presence more visible to others, particularly within Winneba and its environs.

Dr Aidoo added that the club would establish contacts with other Rotarians across the country and abroad especially the Rotary Club of Accra-Labone to make the activities of the club more effective and efficient.
He said his major project under the 2019/2020 Rotary Year, titled “Book and tools” would seek to resource the Winneba Technical and Vocational Institute with books and tools to ensure the smooth running of the school.
