NSS reopens portal, declares old registrations void ahead of 2025/26 national service
The National Service Scheme (NSS) has announced the reopening of its registration portal for the 2025/26 service year, following a directive by President John Dramani Mahama to conduct a technical and forensic audit of the previous Central Service Management Platform (CSMP).
The audit revealed significant irregularities and weaknesses in the old system, prompting the design and deployment of a new, more secure and transparent digital platform to ensure real-time verification of data and enhance accountability.
According to the National Service Secretariat, all previous registrations completed in June 2025 have been declared null and void due to integrity concerns, including inconsistencies in applicants’ ages and other personal data. Prospective national service personnel are therefore required to re-register on the new system when the online portal opens on Wednesday, 8 October 2025. The registration exercise will close on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

The statement assured that “all legitimate registrants will get a refund of their service fees,” adding that the official website for the new registration process is www.gnsa.gov.gh
The new service year officially begins on Saturday, November 1, 2025, with all personnel expected to report to their assigned institutions by Monday, November 3, 2025.
The NSS said the reforms form part of efforts to curb payroll fraud and improve payment efficiency. “The Authority has implemented stringent new IT reforms and internal controls. We have also engaged directly with the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department to strengthen financial controls,” it stated, adding that the measures are designed to ensure the timely and accurate payment of allowances.
Beyond the core national service postings, the new framework seeks to expand opportunities for graduates through special initiatives. These include the Youth in Agriculture programme, which will offer practical training and potential start-up support through a partnership with Agrimpact Limited; and Community Improvement Programmes (CIP) focusing on public health, literacy, sanitation, and voter education.
The NSS is also working with local and international private sector partners to facilitate job placements and provide employability training through a new Service Personnel Skills Capacity Training Framework aimed at equipping graduates with job-ready skills.
Detailed guidelines for the registration process will be made available on the NSS website from Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
